I’d like to have this speed 😉
The reality is that behind every photo we edit there is a long process, the workflow is not always the same, sometimes it is not necessary to transfer the photo to Photoshop (yuppie !!!!) but we adjust the photos identifying first if the the image in question will be in black and white or will be left in color.
Let’s face it today there is an abuse of the black and white photo, maybe it’s a way to feel more artists or to make the work shorter ;-), our idea is that when we render an image in black and white we transform the colorful reality into something else, and it is precisely the black and white that makes the photo different and therefore it is like emphasizing its importance, black and white evokes the past as a distant memory and something that will never pass and will therefore remain forever; here is that the black and white becomes an underlining of the image to make it emerge from the group: so, you have to look at it !!!!! 😉
The workflow in the image in question also includes the passage on photoshop so it is a bit more complex: I start by cutting out the photograph exalting the crossing lines by not inserting the subject in the obvious position in the center or at the sides, step afterwards to correct the White that in jargon means bringing the photo closer to what our eyes actually saw at that moment, then in the background adjustments to adjust the contrast and the lights. The photo is so ready to be sent and opened on Photoshop, here I start by duplicating the layer so as not to destroy any pixel in the photo irreversibly and then move on to skin control (because all women want perfect skin ;-)) even if in this case our Alexandra had a perfect complexion and very few imperfections such as: blemishes, mole , spots, etc.
I apply a beauty mask that means making the skin more homogeneous without differences from one area to another, beautiful and shiny.
Finally we go on to illuminate and darken parts of the photograph, the operation is called dodge and Burning which in very simple words means to sculpt with light and shadows some parts of the photograph to render three-dimensional and which stands out from the rest illuminating and obscuring on the basis of determined principles that save you … .. 😉
